Why Are Brazilians Choosing to Move to the United States?

Youth Climate Activism in the World, fam

OMG, like, when it comes to youth climate activism, this study is all about the vibes that started in 2018 thanks to the legend Greta Thunberg. Feeling hella shook by how world leaders ain't doing anything about this mega urgent situation, the young Swedish girl straight up posted up in front of the Riksdagsuset, Sweden's parliament, with a sign that said "Skolstrejk för klimatet" (school strike for climate) during her school hours. The young woman's action went down from August 20 to September 19, 2018, right before the Swedish parliamentary elections [46].

Regardless of the results, which are sometimes presented as lit [34, 35] and sometimes as trash [36, 37]  citizen activism outside the political system seems to be a fire field of research [38], especially in developing countries [39], in international politics [40-42], and, in the past five years, in studies on the youth movement flexing for climate causes [43-45]. Yo, this research is all about tryna understand the lit youth movement in Brazil who be fightin' for climate causes. Bringing the profile of these young peeps, their motivations and the political instruments they use as a flex strategy. Yo, we tryna figure out what's the vibe with the young activists who be fightin' for the climate in Brazil? Like, what's their whole deal, ya know? And like, how are they even organized and what's their whole vibe and political motivations? The research is hella important, since this movement is in its early stages, not only in Brazil, but worldwide. It's like, major vibes, you know? Recognizing such agents of change helps in understanding the movement, its ability to flex on public sector decision making and its potentiality in the climate agenda over time, fam.

After the Swedish elections were like, totally donezo, Greta went back to her regular school grind, but with a twist - Fridays are a whole different vibe, fam.

On this day of the week, the young woman was flexing in front of the parliament with her strike. Her main goal was to decrease carbon emissions in Sweden by 15% per year and spread awareness about the real world climate situation to the poorest communities who will be hit the hardest by global warming. OMG, like, the whole world is totally obsessed with Greta's movement. It's, like, blowing up and kids and teens from all over are, like, repping climate activism for their own future. It's lit AF! The movement has become hella world famous as Fridays for Future [47, 48]. It's all about flexing on those public policy makers and implementers to take mad strong measures to limit global warming through science-delimited actions, ya feel me? The vibes be like: to keep the temp below 1.5 Cwhencompared to pre-industrial levels, to secure climate justice and equality, to flex with the Paris Agreement, and to secure the clout of science in climate debates [49]. nWhen it comes to indirect activism, the strategy is entirely different because it is not all about immediately and individually lowering carbon emissions, you know? The dominant vibe in this situation is to use political and economic pressure to develop strategies that will have a significant impact on a large number of people, particularly in the economic, political, and legal arenas [17-19]. This low-key approach

Typically associated with: lobbying, both by the business sector [20, 21] and the third sector

The production of litigation-related actions [26-28]; stakeholder and shareholder pressure on specific companies or sectors [29-31]; and citizen activism promoted by those outside the political system through confrontational tactics, boycotts, and protests, among others [32, 33].The year 2019 is lit AF, marking the movement in a majorly positive way. In March, us young peeps organized the Global Climate Strike for Future, a lit demo that was attended by over 1 million students from all over the world. It went on for more than 24 hours, fam. The activists were like, dropping some fire speeches once again, stressing how urgent the situation is and calling out the state and other peeps who could've done something but didn't. [50] In May 2019, there was this lit Global Climate Strike for Future that went down in over 1,400 cities across 110 countries. Can you believe it? About 1.4 million people showed up to protest, fam. [51] In September of the same year, activists be like "Yo, we're gonna organize Global Week for Future, and it's gonna be lit AF!" It's recognized as the world's biggest climate strike, fam. [52] With mad paintings on their bods, flexin' placards, spittin' slogans through megaphones, struttin' along pre-established routes, young peeps be tryna peacefully wake up politicians, parliamentarians, and world leaders 'bout the climate emergency and the major risk they be puttin' on future gens.
